Using Foam Rollers for Self-Myofascial Release
Why do you need to attend this class?
By performing Self-Myofascial Release techniques on a simple piece of foam, you can improve flexibility, function, performance, and reduce injuries. In a nutshell, you use their own body weight on the round foam roll, massaging away restrictions to normal soft-tissue extensibility. And you can perform this program at home as a warm up prior to exercise as well as maximizing your recovery time.
Benefits of Self-Myofascial Release
- Corrects muscle imbalances
- Improves joint range of motion
- Relieves muscle soreness and joint stress
- Decreases neuromuscular hypertonicity
- Increases extensibility of musculotendinous junction
- Improves neuromuscular efficiency
- Maintains normal functional muscular length
Lori will be taking the participants through approximately 10 foam rolling techniques. Come prepared with comfortable clothing to roll on our very clean floor as you experience the magic of foam rolling your pain away.
We’ll have some handouts so attendees will have something to take home with them. There will be ample time for your questions.

Got Willpower?
There is More to It than Just Do It!
If you had the willpower, energy, and control to “just do it”, wouldn’t you have already lost your muffin top, stuck to your meal plans and be fit?
What if there is more to it then “just do it”? (There is.) What if your willpower isn’t lost or broken? (It’s not.) What if THERE IS ANOTHER WAY? There is!
Join us for this FREE Workshop and find out how you can lose weight without having to “fix” your willpower!
In this workshop, you will learn:
- Why “Just do it!” doesn’t always work for you.
- What willpower actually is. (Hint – Willpower is not a virtue by the way)
- The difference between “I will”, “I won’t”, and “I want” power. And how to take advantage of it.
- Why willpower fails you (and everyone else too). And, what to do about it.
- How your internal systems sabotage your willpower unless you know how to make them work for you.
- Why being good can make you act “bad”.
- How to juice up your willpower, make it stronger, last longer.
- Easy, effective ways to change the most ingrained habits even when your willpower fails you.

– Gigi Carunungan, Young Outliers
“I thought Lori Krause knew her material very well. I liked the whole class. I have problems with my IT band and in this class I learned how to use a foam roller to help this problem. I wish Alive! offered a class every week.”
– Patty Connolly
“Lori teaches an excellent class on the foam roller. She explained why we should do this painful maneuver, the important role it plays in healing painful muscles and then demonstrated how to do it including how not to do it. We were all rolling on the studio’s very clean floor. At the end of class, we all walked out smarter and with happier muscles.”

How to Prevent and Avoid Diabetes and How to Reverse It If You Already Have It.
Hint — This “How To” does not involve any drug, it does not require any supplements, and it certainly has nothing surgical required.
Most adults and children have what is called Type 2 Diabetes, and the core problem is insulin resistance. They are still making insulin, but it is not working for them to keep their blood sugar under control.
- Why would a person become resistant to insulin?
- Is this insulin resistance reversible?
- How do you reverse insulin resistance?
These are the questions we will be answering in the talk.
Diabetes preventable. Type 2 Diabetes is reversible, possibly even ‘curable’. Come find out more.
